O COMPA it is part of the International Network of the first female apostolic religious order dedicated to education. Founded in 1607, in Bordeaux, France, by Joan of Lestonnac, who placed their educational heritage at the service of the church and society with the mission of offering a humanist-Christian education.
We have one solid educational project, that is centered on the potential of the human person, with the objective that each subject develops the best version of himself. Our gaze points to the new, without disregarding the security of the tradition of those who have been educating for over 400 years in various parts of the world.
We believe it is possible and healthy to reconcile the two terms – pedagogical excellence and welcoming; good results in college entrance exams and in professional life with ethical, spiritual and social integrity; intellectual rigor and healthy coexistence between people who think and feel differently.
Our mission
The Educational Institutions of Company of Mary, inspired by the charisma of Saint Joan of Lestonnac, offer a humanist Christian education that, based on dialogue faith-righteousness, faith-culture, faith-science and technology, focuses on the integral formation of people and the transformation of society.

O Compa RJ
As primeiras irmãs chegaram ao Rio de Janeiro no dia 18 de outubro de 1936, a bordo do vapor “Augustus”.
Naquela época, a Espanha sofria com os horrores de uma guerra civil, sendo muitos colégios católicos queimados.
Um grupo de irmãs, lideradas pela Madre Antónia Calatayud, desembarcou no porto do Rio de Janeiro e sentiram-se acolhidas pelo Cristo Redentor que as recebeu de braços abertos.
De início, foram hospedadas pelas irmãs de Secre Coeur e Maria Imaculada. Procurando, encontraram no Grajaú o lugar ideal para começar a Missão.
Ao comunicar ao Cardeal D. Sebastião Leme, ele disse: Deus reservou o Grajaú para a Companhia de Maria.
Em 1937, estabeleceram-se na Rua Marechal Jofre, número 35 e 40, começando com 15 alunas.
Em 1941, compraram uma casa na Av. Engenheiro Richard e começaram a obra do Colégio que foi inaugurado solenemente em 1942.
Quantas gerações já passaram pelo Colégio!
Continuam vivos a chama e o ideal de Santa Joana de Lestonnac, que fundou a Companhia de Maria, na França, em 1607.
Nossos estudantes com o passar do tempo deixarão de sê-lo e através deles teremos evangelizado famílias inteiras. Esse é também o ideal dos educadores e das Irmãs que vivem com entusiasmo o Projeto Educativo da Companhia de Maria.
